Winton House Tea Party for the Over 65s

Winton House finished it's Outings for the 65s season with a tea party in it's community Pop in Cafe. All those that came enjoyed a High tea with scones, a sandwich collection and freshly made cakes. It was a full house and the High tea was accompanied by a string quartet from Churcher's College. Grateful thanks to the young players who played beautifully with both traditional and contemporary numbers for all to enjoy. A special thankyou to the amazing team of volunteer co-ordinators Jo and Julie and the escorts that gave up their time to organise and accompany the outings.

The bakers: Iolanthe Sheen, Sarah Caldwell and Holly Thompson.

Winton House asked local artist Vicki Ostersen if she and her young artists could create something special for the Winton House Pop in Cafe. Vicki has worked with us before when she undertook an art project with Petersfield Infant School to create a beautiful art installation back in Easter this year. The result of the 'commision' was the Rainbow seen here in the photo. Winton House invited the children to a Rainbow Tea party. Winton House bakers excelled with their bakes, providing rainbow coloured cakes and the children received photos of their work signed by Winton House trustees and the Centre Manager. It was a wonderful cake-filled, rainbow-filled afternoon!
