WINTON HOUSE TO HOLD CHARITY AUCTION

Winton House will hold an auction at 14.30 on Saturday 13 February at the Herne Farm Leisure Centre, Crundles, Petersfield to raise funds for the various charities supported at its Petersfield High Street premises

Winton House provides assistance to the elderly, disabled, families with children, and all those who are in need in Petersfield and the surrounding area through its daily Pop-In refreshment centre, the local Age Concern and Petersfield Voluntary Care Group transport service for the housebound or infirm, and many others.

According to Neil Hook, Winton House trustee and Chairman of the publicity committee, ‘this last year has been tough for us and Winton House is in constant need of financial support.  The auction is designed to remind Petersfield residents of the important work of Winton House in the local community and to raise much needed funds’.

Local auctioneer, Christopher Brockhurst, will officiate at the event which also offers an opportunity for local businesses to gain publicity for their company and its services through advertisements or credits in the auction catalogue or through donations to the auction itself.  Winton House is seeking donations of goods that might be suitable for auction or promises of services, gift tokens or discount vouchers from local businesses that Mr Brockhurst could similarly auction on the day.  It will be possible to donate auction items any time up until 8 February.  Interested buyers can view items for auction at the Herne Farm Leisure Centre between 12.00 and 14.00 on the day of the auction.  A licensed bar and refreshments will be available.

‘I hope that local businesses will see this as a real benefit to them and will wish to be involved in supporting the auction and the services that Winton House provides to the Petersfield community.  Of course we should also like their staff to join Petersfield residents and to turn out in numbers to buy the items on offer.  We already have some very desirable lots to bid for,’ added Neil Hook.

Readers with items to donate for auction or who wish to have further information should telephone Mrs Alison Gauld at Winton House on 01730 266046 or Neil Hook on 01428 641057.
